Biohello! welcome to my marathon journal! on april 18, 2004 i ran the london marathon in memory of my beautiful sister lisa. i ran for AICR - the association for international cancer research, raising over $3,000 to help find a cure for cancer. i began this journal as a way to track my training progress, as well as my experiences in training for and running my first marathon.
i continued my marathon adventures by running the 2005 NYC Marathon on November 6, 2005! i ran for fred's team, which benefits the Sloan Kettering Memorial Cancer Center. once again, i ran in honor and in memory of lisa. i ran a spectacular race, breaking my 4th metatarsal in the 6th mile but continuing on to reach the finish line in just over 6 hours.
the marathon journal continues, as this year i'm training to run the Chicago Marathon on October 22nd, 2006 with Team in Training. i have a spectacular group of teammates, and i am thrilled and honored to be working as their fundraising mentor for this event! i hope not to break any bones this time, and can't wait to cross the finish line in the Windy City!!!
